Rick Shinto is the president and chief executive officer at InnovaCare Health. Mr. Shinto has won a number of awards for his service in the healthcare industry. He was named Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2018, Mr. Shinto was named one of the Top 25 Minority Executives by Modern Healthcare.
Mr. Shinto earned his bachelor’s of science degree from the University of California at Irvine. He then went to the State University of New York at Stony Brook and obtained his medical degree, and he has an M.B.A. that he earned at the University of Redlands.
Rick Shinto started his career in the healthcare industry more than 20 years ago. He worked as a specialist of internal medicine and pulmonologist in Southern California. In 1996, he started working at MedPartners as the vice president of medical management. He started with Cal Optimal Health in 1997 and was the chief executive officer. He was also with Medical Pathways Management Company as the COO and CMO. Mr. Shinto also worked at Aveta Inc. as the president and CEO and remained at the company until it was sold in 2012.
About Penelope Kokkinides
Penelope Kokkinides is the chief administrative officer at InnovaCare Health. She has more than two decades of experience designing and managing healthcare programs. Ms. Kokkinides has experience working with government programs that include Medicare and Medicaid. She was with Centerlight HealthCare as the CMO who was responsible for the managed care division. Ms. Kokkinides served at Touchstone Health as the head of operations, and she was the VP at AmeriChoice. When Ms. Kokkinides was at AmeriChoice, she was was a key player that helped create the company’s healthcare model.
